Stefani Law Firm has specialized in investigative criminal defense activities for over 45 years.

The founder, Attorney and Professor Eraldo Stefani, has been one of the most important interpreters of a new way of defending citizens in criminal proceedings. He created a true doctrine with numerous publications edited by Giuffrè Editore starting from the year 1991.

The cornerstone principle of the new Italian Code of Criminal Procedure, the so called “right to defend oneself by providing evidence”, has been the beacon to which the firm’s activities have always looked. A futuristic and revolutionary stance, but certainly useful in the criminal defense of both the suspect and the person harmed by the crime.

The judicial cases faced over the years have allowed, thanks to investigative defense, the resolution of complex cases and above all the acquittal of people sentenced to high penalties and even to life imprisonment.

In a new interpretation of the activity of the criminal lawyer, Stefani Law Firm, has added new activities to those mentioned above: it supports entrepreneurs and companies with services of preventive investigation and risk analysis of committing crimes. The goal is to limit as much as possible the spectrum of criminal proceedings and to defend oneself in the best possible way if it happens.

Such services can lay the foundation for the creation of solid Organization, Management, and Control Models pursuant to Italian Legislative Decree n. 231/01 (or “Models 231”) and for participation in Supervisory Bodies in order to ensure continuous monitoring and control over the effective application and adequacy of Model 231 for the company.

The constant research activity and practical application, both in Court and in the company, have represented a key combination at the base of the firm’s evolution in new and current subjects such as cybercrime, cybersecurity, risk management, and a particular focus on ESG objectives with reference to corporate sustainability.
